Salvatori Design specializes in transforming ideas into products and we are committed to helping our clients realize their vision. We have over three decades experience in the Medical and Consumer Products industries as well as an established network of partners that allow us to support projects from concept to go-to-market strategies. From start-ups and inventors to established companies, we have the expertise to navigate any challenge.

Founder

Phil Salvatori, IDSA

Phil has been creating innovative product solutions for over three decades. Based in the Pacific Northwest, he moved from Southern California after graduating from the Industrial Design program at Long Beach State University. While at university he interned at California Medical Products and worked as a staff designer for Patton Design. His senior year, Phil received the Industrial Design Society of America Award of Merit and placed first in the prestigious Unisys International Design Competition. This competition was the most sought after prize by design students and was judged by Bill Moggridge, Dieter Rams and Niels Diffrient.

Phil joined the Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Division after graduation in 1990. He spent 7 years with HP creating diagnostic cardiology equipment including: ultrasound, defibrillation, monitoring and cardiograph products. He left his position as a Senior Industrial Designer in 1996 to join InFocus Corporation as the Manager of Industrial Design. Under Phil’s leadership InFocus was recognized as the leader in design and innovation in the projector marketplace. He was promoted to Director and later Senior Director of Design and Experience. While at InFocus he managed industrial designers, mechanical, usability and packaging engineers. As head of the Design Group he worked closely with contract manufacturing partners in Asia to bring high quality and cost reduced solutions to the marketplace. Phil joined Marvell in 2007 as the Head of Industrial Design and Experience Group. This group was created to develop innovative products and reference solutions utilizing Marvell technologies.

Phil’s design leadership has resulted in 50+ Patents, and over 30 Product Design Awards from organizations such as IDEA, Good Design, IF, and CES Innovations. As member of the Industrial Society of America he is  involved in the design community as well as local universities evaluating student work and has served as an adjunct instructor in Product Design at the University of Oregon.
